Blue Justice 5th anniversary 2024
Let’s celebrate!
In 2018, nine countries came together in Copenhagen, Denmark, to create the Declaration aginst transnational organized crime in the global fishing industry. Known as the Copenhagen Delaration, 60 countries now support this unique international political instrument that identifies crime in the global fisheries sector as a common problem – which require common solutions.
In 2019, Norway, as the custodian of the Copenhagen Declaration, established Blue Justice, an initiative to assist States attain their political aspirations. Blue Justice supports the community of government agencies that address transnational organized crime that undermine sustainable fish stocks and fisheries managment.
On the occasion of its 5th anniversary, Blue Justice invites you to celebrate five years of joint achievements on 18 June 2024 at the historical site Oscarsborg Fortress in the Oslo fjord.
The celebration will be opened by the Norwegian Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy Cecilie Myrseth and State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affiars Bjørg Sandkjær.
During the celebratory event we will formally open a new digital service that will give registered government users access to Norwegian satellite vessel tracking data.
Moreover, we will hear the lessons learned and advice from political leaders, senior civil servants and expert from across the world.
Let us celebrate our joint achievements – and let us together set our course ahead – towards a blue economy free from fisheries crime.
Please note that, due to capacity limitations, attendance at Oscarsborg Fortress is for invited guests only.
